Islam views life as a compact whole and does not divide it into many separate and conflicting parts. The economic aspect is one of the most important parts of our life, while not being the whole of it. The Islamic system is balanced and places everything in its right place. Islam has given detailed regulations for the conduct of our economic life which concerns mainly the earning and use of wealth. read more...

The brave individuals who have mustered the courage to ask me about the way I dress usually have questions like: "Do your parents make you wear that?" or "Don't you find that really unfair?" A while back, a couple of girls in Montreal were kicked out of school for dressing like I do. It seems strange that a little piece of cloth would make for such controversy. Perhaps the fear is that I am harbouring an Uzi underneath it. You never can tell with those Muslim fundamentalists...Read more

Today, many non-Muslims regard Islam as a religion that promotes violence, terrorism and war. Unfortunately, they rely in their view of Islam on the general media, which is not always accurate in reporting the news. Many media outlets, such as TV, radio, newspapers and magazines, are influenced by their investors or owners who have certain agendas and who want to promote certain values and points of view. Other media outlets are simply after the big story, in order to make more money and more profits. Others are simply followers who only gather news from other sources, re-package it and try to sell it again purely as a business. read more...

The number 786 is just 786..it has no more significance in Islam than normal counting. When Allah or His messenger wants to teach us something, they do so in the clearest way, far from puzzles and mystery numbers. All the efforts made by some Muslims to count letters and relate them to numbers are nothing but a waste of time. Sometimes they do so with good intention to show that our deen is great and the Qur'an is intact. Indeed our deen is great, but it's not in need of such erroneous approaches. Some Muslims write 786/110. However, some people believe that it is of high virtue as the alphabets of 'Bismillahi Arrahmani Arraheem' add up to 786. Numerology is not from Islam in any way or manner. It is so unfortunate that some people even write '786' on pages of books, their shps etc instead of using the Basmalah. It is a needless innovation and makes little of no sense. read more...

His followers refer to him as God's Messenger of the Covenant. He promoted a strict monotheism and was a prominent Quranist, REJECTING the hadith and sunnah as fabrications attributed to prophet Muhammad by later scholars. read more...

As Muslims and their institutions become targets of harassment in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attack, Muslim women, especially those who dress Islamically, have become major targets. Reports of Muslim women being yelled at, threatened, having their Hijabs pulled off and having guns pointed at them have surfaced. It is necessary that the whole community rallies to defend Muslim women. But sisters also have to take personal precautions when they go outside. Like it or not, they will be targets. read more...

InshAllah in this short booklet I would discuss authenticy of three famous narrations that falsely have been attributed to our beloved Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa ala alihi wa sallam). It was reported that Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa ala alihi wa sallam) said: "To look at the face of Ali is worship" You can see this hadith in many shia polemic works, shia scholars quoting it, and using it during their debates with people of Sunnah. First of all we should notice that in accordance to shia narrations such superiority wasn't something special for Ali (r.a), but for all believers. read more...
