Nigella sativa (black-caraway, also known as nigella or kalonji), often called black cumin, is an annual flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae, native to south and southwest Asia. Nigella sativa grows to 20-30 cm (7.9-11.8 in) tall, with finely divided, linear (but not thread-like) leaves. The flowers are delicate, and usually colored pale blue and white, with five to ten petals. The black caraway fruit is a large and inflated capsule composed of three to seven united follicles, each containing numerous seeds which are used as spice, sometimes as a replacement for black cumin (Bunium bulbocastanum).

Death of a Believer and a non-believer

Upon the authority of al-Bara' ibn `Aazib who said: We went out with the the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) to a burial of a man from the Ansar (original inhabitants of Madina) until we arrived at the grave, and he still had not been placed in the slot of the grave. Then the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) sat down and we sat around him. You would have thought that birds were upon our heads from our silence, and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) was a stick which he was poking the ground with. Nkhani inachokera kwa al-Bara ibn Aazib yemwe anati: tinapita ndi Mtumiki (Mtendere ndi Madalitso zipite kwa Iye) kumwambo woika mmanda mmodzi wa ma Ansar (mzika ya mumzinda wa Madina), ndipo titafika pa manda, tinapeza kuti sadaikidwe ku mphanga la manda. Kenako Mtumiki (Mtendere ndi Madalitso zipite kwa Iye) anakhala pansi ndipo ife tinakhala momzungulira. Malingana ndi mmene tinakhalira chete, mukanaganiza kuti ngati mbalame zinatera mmitu mwathu. Ndipo Mtumiki (Mtendere ndi Madalitso zipite kwa Iye) anali kuseweretsa ndodo yake pokumba pa dothi. (kenako anayang'ana kumwamba, kenako pansi, kenako kumwamba katatu).
